!! Shri Mahaligenshwara Prasanna !!

I had a long term wish to write about well reputed kavathar village temple “Shri Dendhadka Mahalingeshware temple”.  By this blog I am sharing epic story of several decade old lord shiva temple.

There is an enormous  temples we could see in Dakshina kannada district. In those Mangalore thaluk , near karnire and Kavathar village PUTTURU DENDADKA SHREE MAHALINGESHWARA TEMPLE also famous one. It's having a goodwill “Kshipra Phala Pradhayaka” by his tremendous power of limiting all type of problem.  This temple having unique design “GajaPrastakara” Garba Gudi, Which is very rare to see. As per archaeologist it is built during Alupa king. Once upon a time whole temple was buried in earth and above to relocate some other place. But almighty god not willing to do so, and he started showing his existence to the Dendhadka family members. To overcome this issue key member of family Mr. Poovani Shetty had built a small temple and started daily prayer.

Later around 1932 he only build a complete temple and started number of pooja’s(Nanda deepa, Pancha parva) and even initiated Shivarathri fest.  All pooja’s are continued after his death. There is an impressive story on construction of new temple, during that time there is no vehicle facility, however  it is appreciable for people effort by carrying raw material such as sand, bricks, cement, wood on their shoulder and head. It all shows the love and holy spirit of people.

Since temple become too old after several years it went to distorted state. Couple of year back temple was almost broke down. Because of bad condition of temple people from Karnire, Kavathar, Balkunje, Athikaribettu and kolluru started sensing  too many issues. In this situation by taking permission of Dendadka family initiated building of new temple. As per the initial estimation around 1 Crore  was needed to re-build brand new temple. By mammoth help of devotees from all over the world constructed new temple. By god grace Temple restructure planning committee had collected more than one crore.  Shri almighty lord shiva shown his presence by huge collection in small village.

By this media I would like to Thanks important contributor of temple construction. First of all Panikere Family, Shri Jagadheesh Prabhu who is President of Jeernoddara samithy. This family has put down tremendous effort for temple construction. Personally I feel without their presence we might delayed our construction work. 

Pradhana Archakaru maine key member of Priest family Shri. Ramakrishna Bhat. Who is actual initiator of whole process. Co-ordination is mainly done through them.

Special thanks to Dendadka family who has supported from all the ways even after that temple before their own.
